Summer Preston is an excellent student with ambitious plans. She dreams of becoming a sports psychologist and applying for postgraduate studies. To do this, she needs to make hockey her research topic. Summer hates the game, but her academic advisor gives her an ultimatum: either she overcomes her prejudice or she loses her place in the postgraduate programme. Meanwhile, a reckless mistake by the captain of the hockey team, Aiden Crawford, puts the entire season in jeopardy. So the coach comes up with a real punishment for him: the boy will become Summer's main research subject. This is the last thing he wants to do, especially since the researcher seems ready to take a swing at him with her skates. And Aiden himself confirms Summer's worst assumptions about hockey players - he thinks only of the game, is short-tempered, unceremonious. They will have to put up with each other until the passion between them breaks the ice
